Terms of Use

The Sova app and web version

Revision of 29 July 2026

1. General provisions

These terms govern the use of the Sova mobile app for Android and its web version on the mysova.app website (hereinafter — "the app").

Rights holder: Individual Entrepreneur N. A. Tkachev (hereinafter — "we").

By starting to use the app, you accept these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the app.

2. What Sova is

Sova is an app with breathing techniques that helps steady your breathing during anxiety, panic and sleepless nights. It sets the breathing rhythm through sound cues and animation, and through vibration on Android; it explains each technique in plain words; and it includes a conversation with an owl character whose lines are written in advance, with no artificial intelligence involved.

Sova is a wellness app, not a medical one.

3. Important: this is not medical care

Sova is not a medical device, is not intended for the diagnosis, prevention, treatment or relief of any illness, and does not replace a consultation with a doctor, psychiatrist or psychotherapist.

The content of the app, including descriptions of techniques, scientific background, advice and the character's lines, is informational and supportive in nature only, and is not a medical recommendation.

Breathing techniques are not suitable for everyone. Consult a doctor before using the app if you have cardiovascular or respiratory conditions, epilepsy, high or low blood pressure, if you are pregnant, or if you are receiving treatment for a mental health condition. Breath holding and hyperventilation techniques (the Wim Hof method, for example) are contraindicated in some conditions.

Never perform breathing exercises while driving, in water, while operating machinery, or in any other situation where losing concentration or feeling dizzy would be dangerous.

If you feel worse during a session, or experience strong dizziness, pain or shortness of breath, stop the exercise and seek medical help if needed.

4. If things are severe

The app is not intended for use in emergencies and cannot provide emergency care.

If things are unbearable right now, or there are thoughts of harming yourself or others, please reach out to a real person:

5. How you may use the app

We grant you the right to use the app free of charge, for its intended purpose, on your personal devices.

You may not: modify, decompile or distribute the app under your own name, use its content for commercial purposes without our consent, or take any action that disrupts the operation of the app.

6. Cost

Right now the app is free, with no advertising and no in-app purchases. If paid features appear in the future, the terms on which they are offered will be published separately, and the quick help for panic — the SOS button and the breathing — will stay free.

7. Intellectual property

The app, its source code, texts, images, sounds, the owl character and the design belong to the rights holder and are protected by intellectual property law.

8. No warranties

The app is provided "as is". We do not guarantee that it will work without errors or interruptions, that vibration and sound will be reproduced identically on every device (the vibration motors in different models differ in what they can do), and we do not guarantee any particular result from using the techniques.

How the app behaves may depend on your device's power-saving settings.

9. Liability

You use the app on your own and at your own risk, and you make decisions about your health yourself.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any harm caused by the use of, or inability to use, the app, including the consequences of performing breathing techniques on your own and of any decision to postpone seeking professional help.

Nothing in these terms limits liability to the extent that such limitation is not permitted by law.

10. Age

In the stores the app is rated 0+. From about 12 a child can use it on their own; younger children — together with a parent or other legal guardian, or at least with their knowledge.

11. Changes and discontinuation

We may change the app and these terms. The current revision is available at mysova.app/terms. Continuing to use the app after changes means you accept the new revision.

We may discontinue support and distribution of the app; an app that is already installed will keep working, without updates.

12. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by the legislation of the Russian Federation. Disputes are resolved through negotiation, and failing agreement, in the manner provided for by the legislation of the Russian Federation.
